This double‑page layout was created for one of my favorite old photos of my granddaughter, dressed as the cutest little bee many Halloweens ago. I wanted the pages to feel playful and light, so I started with the honeycomb‑style patterns from the Beautiful Ordinary Life paper collection. Using hexagon dies, I built a trail of honeycomb shapes that begins in the upper left corner of the first page and flows downward, then repeats on the bottom right of the second page to connect the two pages visually.

Once the foundation was in place, I added daisies, bees, and layered embellishments to bring in texture and movement — just enough to echo the costume without overwhelming the photos. The left page includes two stationary tags, and the right page has a pull‑out journaling tag. When these pages go into top‑loading protectors, I’ll cut a small slit so the journaling tag can slide out easily.

This layout was such a joy to create, not just because of the theme, but because it let me revisit a sweet memory from years ago. I hope it inspires you to pull out an older photo you love and build a layout that celebrates the story behind it.
