As we wrap up our Christmas Mini Series, I wanted to share one more festive project that proves beautiful handmade cards don’t have to be complicated.

For today’s card, I turned festive washi tape into a trio of Christmas trees, creating a design that is both simple and eye-catching. With a little texture, a touch of shimmer, and some festive ribbon, this quick card comes together beautifully while letting the patterned washi tape do most of the work.

A Stash-Friendly Christmas Card Idea

One of my favorite things about cardmaking is finding new ways to use supplies that may already be sitting on my craft table. While I used Festive Washi Tape for these trees, you could easily substitute your favorite Christmas papers, patterned cardstock, or even handmade backgrounds.

The basic concept remains the same:

  • Create tree shapes from a patterned design.
  • Add texture with an embossing folder.
  • Layer in a little sparkle or shine.
  • Finish with a sentiment and embellishments.

The result is a festive card that looks detailed but is surprisingly easy to create.

In my latest video, I’ll walk you through the process step-by-step and share how this card came together.

Try Different Versions

One of the reasons I love simple layouts is their versatility. Once the basic design is established, it’s easy to create multiple cards simply by changing the patterns, colors, or embellishments.

I experimented with several different versions using the same layout, and each one had its own personality. If you’re making Christmas cards in batches, this is a wonderful way to get variety without having to redesign the entire card.

Final Thoughts

As this Christmas Mini Series comes to a close, I hope these projects have inspired you to look at your supplies with fresh eyes and create cards that reflect your own style.

Remember, creativity isn’t about having the newest product or the most complicated technique. Often, it’s simply about taking what you already have and finding a new way to use it.

Thank you for joining me throughout this series. I have enjoyed sharing these Christmas projects with you, and I can’t wait to move into some fun autumn, Halloween, and Thanksgiving inspiration in the weeks ahead!

Happy crafting,
