They would shop together for the perfect pumpkin, and then carve it side by side. Those moments of laughter and creativity became cherished memories, and I wanted to capture them in a scrapbook layout.

The Double Page Layout

For this project, I created a double-page spread designed to highlight those pumpkin carving photos. I haven’t placed the photos yet, because I like to share the layout first on my blog and during Facebook live sessions to feature the products used.

Featuring Painted Patch Suite

The Painted Pumpkin stamps and dies and were the stars of this layout. Their versatile designs allowed me to build a warm, autumn theme without leaning into Halloweenn imagery. I paired the Sunflower Fields DSP, which added a golden, seasonal touch. To round out the palette, I pulled in some autumn-like DSP from my stash, blending textures and colors for a cohesive look.

Creative Choices

I intentionally avoided Halloween-specific icons so the focus remained on the Painted Patch products and the family story. The pumpkins themselves became a symbol of tradition and creativity, rather than just a holiday decoration. This approach allowed the layout to feel timeless and versatile.

Educator’s Note

This project is a great example of how you can use themed products to tell pesonal stories in your scrapbooking. By focusing on the essence of the memory – in this case, the joy of carving pumpkins together – you can create pages that resonate beyond a single holiday.

Closing Thought

The photos will be added later, but the story is alive on paper. Painted Patch and Sunflower Fields came together to frame a treasured family tradition, reminding me that scrapbooking is as much about storytelling as it is about design.

A Family Tradition When my granddaughter was small, she and my husband had a sweet autumn tradition.
