Today\u2019s Sketch Saturday is all about showing how a simple layout can spark two completely different cards \u2014 one soft and floral, one rustic and outdoorsy \u2014 all from supplies already in my craft space.<\/span><\/p>\n

I used <\/span>OWH Sketch #97<\/b> as my starting point. I love this sketch because the panels are perfect for scraps, and the clean structure makes it easy for beginners while still giving experienced cardmakers room to play.<\/span><\/p>\n

\ud83d\udc90 Card 1 \u2014 Petunia Pop Florals (Stash + Scraps)<\/b><\/h2>\n

For my first card, I pulled out a handful of <\/span>Petunia Pop scraps<\/b> from the 2025\u20132026 In Color DSP. The elongated white oval was left over from a past kit, and the flowers and adhesive\u2011backed gems were treasures from my stash. The sentiment comes from the <\/span>Mix & Match<\/b> collection that\u2019s still available.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why I chose this sketch:<\/b>
\n<\/b> Those small panels were perfect for using up the patterned scraps I couldn\u2019t bear to toss. The sketch gave me a clean framework, and the floral cluster on the oval helped soften the geometric lines.<\/span><\/p>\n

What I changed:<\/b>
\n<\/b> I kept the measurements close to the sketch but let the florals spill slightly beyond the oval for a more organic feel.<\/span><\/p>\n

\ud83d\udeb2 Card 2 \u2014 Lakeside Retreat (April 2026 Paper Pumpkin)<\/b><\/h2>\n

For the second card, I stayed true to the sketch measurements and used only supplies from the <\/span>April 2026 Paper Pumpkin: Lakeside Retreat<\/b>. The outdoor artwork, bicycle, and little details made this sketch shine without needing anything extra.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why I chose this sketch:<\/b>
\n<\/b> The panel sizes in Sketch #97 naturally highlight the kit\u2019s artwork. The long vertical panel was perfect for the cabin scene, and the smaller rectangles let me tuck in the fish and sentiment without crowding the design.<\/span><\/p>\n

What I kept exactly the same:<\/b>
\n<\/b> All the measurements \u2014 this sketch works beautifully straight out of the box.<\/span><\/p>\n
