This week\u2019s featured product is the <\/span>April Paper Pumpkin kit \u2014 Lakeside Retreat<\/b>, and after creating one of each of the three card designs, I couldn\u2019t resist diving into the leftovers to create an alternate project. Scrapbook pages are one of my favorite ways to stretch a kit, and this layout came together with that peaceful, rustic cabin vibe I love.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Inspiration<\/b><\/h3>\n

I have fond memories of when my family would unwind by heading to a cabin in the mountains. Quiet mornings, pine trees, fishing, campfires, boating and time to breathe \u2014 this page captures that feeling for me. When I saw the kit\u2019s imagery, I knew it would be perfect for a memory\u2011keeping project.<\/span><\/p>\n

What I Used<\/b><\/h3>\n

Along with the Paper Pumpkin supplies, I pulled in a few extras from my craft room:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Country Woods DSP<\/b> for soft, weathered texture<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Ephemera from the kit<\/b> \u2014 oars, life vest, fish, bicycle, and the circular cabin image<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Stamped elements<\/b> using the kit\u2019s stamp set and Peaceful Pines (one of the new In Colors) ink spot<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Additional ink colors<\/b>: Night of Navy + Pecan Pie<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Retired favorites<\/b>: \u201cWhat Fun\u201d sentiment and the tree images<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Linen Thread<\/b> for a natural, tactile finish<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Sketch inspiration<\/b>: A layout designed by Kelly Holifield<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Custom title + boat graphic<\/b> created with help fro Chatgbt and my Cricuit Joy<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The Finished Page<\/b><\/h3>\n

    The layered strips, the soft blues and browns, and the mix of kit pieces with DSP gave this layout a cozy, outdoorsy feel. It\u2019s ready for two photos \u2014 one square, one rectangular \u2014 and I have those pictures ready to adhere.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Paper Pumpkin kits are wonderful on their own, but they really shine when you let yourself play, stretch, and mix them with what you already have. This project reminded me just how versatile these kits can be.<\/span><\/p>\n
