Welcome to this week\u2019s <\/span>Saturday Sketch<\/b>, where we take a simple layout and explore all the creative possibilities it can spark. Sketches are one of my favorite tools for getting started \u2014 they offer structure, but still leave plenty of room for personal style and interpretation.<\/span><\/p>\n

This Week\u2019s Sketch<\/b><\/h2>\n

I found this sketch online (no designer listed), but it immediately caught my eye. The overlapping circles and banner create a playful focal point, and the tall left panel gives you a great opportunity to showcase your favorite patterned paper.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sketches like this are wonderful because they\u2019re flexible. You can flip the layout, rotate it, or simplify it depending on your supplies and the look you\u2019re going for.<\/span><\/p>\n

My Interpretation<\/b><\/h2>\n

This week, I wanted to focus on using my <\/span>Lovely & Beautiful Designer Series Paper<\/b> in different ways. DSP is such a powerful design tool \u2014 a single pack can create so many moods and styles.<\/span><\/p>\n

I created two cards using the same sketch:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Soft, floral, and elegant<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Warm Calypso Coral background<\/span><\/li>\n

  • A sweet, uplifting sentiment for my stash<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Bold contrast with Scret Sea, Petal Pink, and Basic White<\/span><\/li>\n

    • A crisp \u201cThank YOU\u201d sentiment from my stash<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Even though both cards use the same DSP collection, they each have their own personality. That\u2019s the magic of sketches \u2014 they guide you, but they don\u2019t box you in.<\/span><\/p>\n
